Hi there. I'm Becca Hawk.
Some things I believe:
Two minds are greater than one.
Never use more words when fewer will do.
Always make time to play.
I subscribe fully to Ogilvy's theory: "Good copy can’t be written with tongue in cheek, written just for a living. You’ve got to believe in the product."
To write about solar energy, I spent a day in a warehouse helping build solar units. To write for Google apps, I switched from iPhone to Android and learned everything I could about the apps (and easter eggs too).
I grew up in Michigan, earned my MFA and started my career in Arkansas, and now live in a converted warehouse (that I'm perpetually redecorating) in Oakland, CA.
When I'm not working, you can find me blogging about my clothes, editing my novel, trying to beat my mom in Fitbit challenges, or camping in the Redwoods. And playing. Always playing.
